HIV/AIDS Training Requirement

All ALF staff, including administrators and managers, are required to complete, biennially, a continuing education course on HIV and AIDS. Pursuant to s. 381.0035, F.S., training providers approved by the Department of Health or a health-related professional board may provide HIV/AIDS training.

Newly hired staff must obtain HIV/AIDS training within 30 days of employment, unless the new staff person previously completed the initial training and has maintained the biennial continuing education requirement.

Both initial training and biennial continuing education training should be properly documented in accordance with Rule 58A-5.0191(11), F.A.C.
